Associate Director HR Site Head

What you will do

Lets do this! Lets change the world! In this vital role, you will be a pivotal member of the Amgen Ohio site (also known as AOH) leadership team. The Amgen Ohio facility is a state-of-the-art assembly and packaging plant built to ensure Amgens capacity to support the growing demand for its medicines. It incorporates digital innovations to bolster safety and efficiency and allow us to scale up manufacturing, streamline assembly and packaging operations, and embrace digital advancements. Moreover, it underscores Amgens commitment to sustainability, striving to operate in an environmentally responsible manner.

You will take the lead in being responsible for developing and overseeing execution of the sites overall talent strategy, including the workforce plan, talent acquisition strategies, employee value proposition, and corporate talent programs. Additionally, you serve as the trusted advisor and coach to the site leadership team in areas of HR strategy, culture, leadership, talent management, rewards, and change management. In addition to continuing to build Amgens talent base at the site, you will also develop and implement innovative approaches to foster engagement and a strong culture in the midst of dynamic growth.

This role reports to the Executive Director of HR, Manufacturing with a dotted line to the Site Vice President (VP).

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as member of the Site Leadership Team (SLT) and Manufacturing HR Senior Leadership Team, contributing to best practice sharing across the network and providing thought partnership and coaching in overall strategy and day to day operations.

  • In collaboration with centers of excellence (COEs), serve as a trusted strategic advisor and coach to the SLT in areas of HR Strategy, Culture / Engagement, Leadership, Talent Management, Rewards, Change Management.

  • Partner with site leadership to implement cutting edge strategies to drive innovation, growth, employee engagement, and diversity, inclusion and belonging.

  • Develop a robust talent base at the site including workforce plan, Talent Acquisition strategies, Employee Value Proposition, Corporate talent programs, and diversity, inclusion, and belonging (DI&B) strategy.

  • Implement innovative strategies to foster engagement and strong people centered culture amid dynamic growth.

  • Create and further grow trusted partnerships with local trade schools, universities, and government entities with a focus on workforce development initiatives.

  • Oversee / direct implementation of HR processes such as: Onboarding, Performance Evaluation, Compensation Planning, Career Development, Talent Management, Coaching/Training people managers.

  • Represent Amgen at key local external activities across industry and academic affiliations, focusing on attracting top talent and enhancing our reputation in the new market.

  • Oversee development and delivery of Amgen Apprenticeship program in local market in support of Amgens commitment to OneTen Coalition and in support of future workforce planning challenges / opportunities.

  • Develop and drive initiatives and programs that meet local needs while remaining aligned with global strategies.

  • Partner with COEs to develop and implement changes, working to anticipate, coordinate, and plan programs at the site ensuring HR initiatives add value to site and Amgens business goals.

  • Maintain expertise in leading HR trends and deliver practical and insightful thought leadership.

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 3 years of Human Resources experience

OR

Masters degree and 5 years of Human Resources experience

OR

Bachelors degree and 7 years of Human Resources experience

OR

Associates degree and 12 years of Human Resources experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 14 years of Human Resources experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressively complex / strategic experience in Human Resources for a large global or multinational organization.

  • Strategic HR business partner experience or other client-facing experience.

  • Experience leading complex projects / initiatives and/or teams.

  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of how to use data to inform decisions.

  • Ability to balance a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and competing demands.

  • Self-directed, passionate about the work, and willing to take informed risk.

  • Understand business needs and develop innovative and practical solutions to business challenges.

  • Sound knowledge of applicable employment laws, regulations, and business practices related to the field of Human Resources.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence all levels of management, and executives.

  • History of partnering well with other HR and business functions.

  • Continuous improvement and growth learning mindset.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
