Job description

What You'll Be Doing:

Set up vaginal delivery tables and prepare supplies, instruments, and equipment for deliveries and surgical procedures.
Open sterile supplies and set up the operating room (OR) for cesarean sections while performing scrub duties.
Label and prepare specimens for pathology.
Support licensed nurses by providing both direct and indirect patient care, including assisting with daily living activities, personal care, and comfort measures.
Maintain a safe and clean environment to optimize patient outcomes and efficiency.
Charge supplies accurately.
Collect patient data such as vital signs, weights, input and output, and pain scores, and report significant findings to the licensed nurse.
Document findings and care within established timeframes.
Assist patients with transportation needs and manage the overall appearance of lobbies and entrances.
Guide and direct patients through the registration process and hospital procedures.
Communicate professionally with staff, patients, and visitors.
Maintain accurate employee records and exemplify teamwork.
Serve as the primary resource for patients and guests, providing courteous and helpful assistance.
Act as a liaison between patients, staff, and other departments, demonstrating proactive problem-solving and solution-focused behavior.
Provide wheelchair assistance as needed and respond to inquiries by directing parties to the appropriate authority.
Respond to emergencies outside normal working hours, including internal and external disasters.
Work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled or assigned.

What You'll Need:

High school diploma with coursework or experience demonstrating basic patient care knowledge. Experience as a Surgical Technician or OB Technician is required.
Strong clinical knowledge of the OR environment.
Obtain American Heart Association BLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintain continuous certification.
Obtain Behavioral Health & De-Escalation Training (BHDT) within six months of employment and maintain annual certification.
Surgical Technologist certification is preferred.
