Job description

Central Ordering Material Planner/Buyer is responsible for overseeing complex part supply chain for North American Plant Domestic Supply Part Supply (DSPS) part ordering. Ensure day to day DSPS order requirements are met, open orders are tracked to closure, future orders are planned with sufficient lead time, and late orders are delivered and effectively counter-measured.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent relevant experience

  • Average Experience Minimum of 3 months of relevant experience (co-op/internship experience included)

  • Qualification Status Meets or exceeds requirements for Exempt level 1 requirements

    Key accountabilities:

  • Thorough understanding and accurate maintenance of process related systems (GPCS, Client's Supply Part Portal Application) schedule, monitor and manage day to day orders/deliveries from Tier 2 and 3 OEMs to next Tier'd OEM suppliers and ensure sufficient/timely to meet plant production requirements.

  • Investigate root cause for late orders, develop resolution and/or recovery plans with Tier'd suppliers and track to closure

  • Management of Tier 1 supplier inventory levels through monthly analysis of over/under to targeted days on hand

  • Maintain required inventory between Tier'd suppliers to ensure supply chain requirements are meet; coordinate with Tier 1 suppliers for order/cut requirements to achieve

  • Establish and maintain communication networks with supply base to promote positive relationships focused on delivery performance

  • Identify, evaluate, and escalate critical issues to management to ensure appropriate allocation of resources in a timely manner

  • Collaborate with department project leaders to support all specified Supply Chain Delivery projects to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI) targets

  • Understand and manage transition activity from New Model to Mass Production to minimize impact and cost

  • Through continuous improvement strengthen business processes, streamline reporting, and enable effective and efficient Plan-Do-Check-Action (PDCA) cycles for area of responsibility

  • Develop capability of self and others through training, mentoring, and sharing of experiences in area of technical expertise to improve understand and team growth

  • Maintain reporting and Gemba activity for root cause analysis/countermeasure implementation to solve simple to complex problems

  • Support company vision through Business Plan, Marutoku, and other department initiatives in area of knowledge and technical expertise
