Job description

Job Description: This position requires a program manager to assist the Government with oversight and management of flight test operations for an aviation program. including providing support in project management, research, contracting, finance, development, production, and lifecycle sustainment efforts. Assists the Flight Test Chief to ensure project goals are met within stated need dates and budgets for these activities are approved and funding identified/received. Duties include drafting and reviewing test plans and safety packages, planning and scheduling of test assets and criteria, conducting flight and ground testing through configuration control and troubleshooting, reviewing and drafting documentation support for test reports, and interfacing with customers to ensure proper prioritization and de-confliction of test activities. Position requires the application of knowledge and experience in flight test and engineering along with policies and procedures to Air Force systems, subsystems, and equipment lifecycle activities. Responsible for integration, communication, coordination, scheduling, organization, and planning to technical test efforts and liaison between government organizations, contractor, sub-contractor, and customers. This position shall require candidate to obtain Special Access Program access in order to perform the full spectrum of responsibilities. Required Skills/Education: Candidate must possesses the advanced knowledge, experience and recognized ability to be considered an expert in their technical/professional field, possess the ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior and journeyman personnel within the technical/professional discipline. Will demonstrate advanced knowledge of their technical/professional discipline as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures and practices in their area of expertise. (Program Office, Enterprise and Staff Level Support interface) Functionally Aligned Minimum Recommended Education and Experience: • Advanced Degree (Master of Arts (MA) / Master of Science (MS and 12 years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD • OR, BA/BS degree, and 15 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD • OR, 20 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the Functionally Aligned Job Descriptions, eight of which must be in the DoD.
