Job description

Epsilon C5I (), a division of Epsilon Systems Solutions, is a 100 percent employee-owned company founded in 1998 with more than 20 locations serving the Department of Defense, Department of Energy, Department of Homeland Security, non-profit and commercial customers. Epsilon C5I is seeking a Principal Engineer or scientist with at least 7 years of experience in electro-optics or photonics hardware engineering, software development, algorithm development, and analysis. The position will support the research, development, and sustainment of old and new hardware systems and software capabilities. This position is contingent upon award expected to by the end of July, 2024. Duties and Responsibilities: Designs, develops, executes, and implements projects, often of a research nature that advances the organization's technical expertise.
Interface with community partners to discuss designs, plans, and sensor collection.
Integrates numerous advanced concepts, data and information from diverse areas in order to synthesize an approach or technique to solve a problem.
Prepares and presents reports, papers, proposals, briefings, and other documentation pertinent to the position.
Leads efforts and directs the work of other staff members as necessary.
Apply and develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts.
Design the research for and the development of highly advanced new technological applications.
Present technical capabilities and future directions.
Possess sufficient writing and communication skills to prepare and present reports, papers, proposals, briefings and other documentation pertinent to the position.
Lead technical personnel and activities for large programs or groups of programs. Required Qualifications: PhD Degree in engineering, science, or mathematics.
At least seven (7+) years of experience with optics or photonic systems and data.
Active TS/SCI clearance or TS SCI/eligible.
Proven experience in researching, developing, and presenting advanced theories and concepts.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Effective team player with highly proficient customer service skills.
Flexible and able to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens. Desired Qualifications: Subject matter expert in Electro-optics and photonics.
Experience and understanding of sensor architecture and associated requirements/collection protocols.
Demonstrated understanding of the development and use of mission software tools (STK, SOAP, others)
Experience with software (Python, MATLAB, C/C++, and Fortran)
Experience with sensor characterization and field testing. ADA Notations: Regular communication (hearing/speaking).
Noise conditions range from very quiet to very noisy.
Prolonged use of computer (typing/keyboarding).
Frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, and walk.
Ability to travel by car, air or other means of transportation, if required.
