Mile Two continues to grow and we are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to implement NIST Information Protection Requirements for software solutions that will be hosted in DoD Cloud Environments. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Consult, provide, and document data flow requirements between multiple IL-level environments
Work Authority to Operation (ATO) packages for designated DoD software solutions
Engage and Collaborate with Government Software Leads on best practices and standards for security and developing security policies
Evaluate and test software systems' potential for vulnerabilities and document strategies to strengthen weak points
Review system logs, monitor and document incidents to ensure regulatory compliance
Remain agile and up to date on the latest best practices in the industry
Participate in acquisition meetings (PMR, PDR, CDR, etc.), concept of operation (CONOP) working groups, change boards, technical exchange meetings, and other similar activities
Work between architecture-level and implementation-level engineering meetings to maintain a system-wide view of security functions and apply risk mitigation strategies at the appropriate level.
Guide and verify work against program requirements and goals. This includes participating in technical discussions, trade studies and working groups, and conducting research on industry best practices for potential implementation.
Keep abreast of current and new security technologies and threats to better support the customer in maintaining cybersecurity resilience.
Identify integration issues related to the implementation of new systems within the existing infrastructure; recommend mitigation and/or resolution options as appropriate.
Assist in the design of systems and networks that encompass multiple enclaves to include those with differing data protection/classification requirements.
Have a firm understanding of the DoD 8500.1-M, DoDM 5205.07, Volume 1, Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-53, Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) Number 503.
Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Must have an active US security clearance at the Secret level or higher
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience. 5-7 years experience or a Masters Degree with 3-5 years experience
CISSP Certified or equivalent
Current Secret Security clearance or higherDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience working with new software development and the process of getting new software approved in DoD system
Understand the requirements difference between Unclassified Information Protection Levels; IL2, IL4, IL5 and preferably higher levels of classification
Understand NIST standards and how they need to be implemented in new software development to meet the standards and acquire ATOs and complete RMF packages for Hybrid Cloud Environments Experience in GovCloud technologies and communications between different levels of security and environments, Azure / Google experience desired LEADERSHIP: Strong communication skills
Able to back up security recommendations with cited best practices
