Columbus, OH On-Site

We're seeking an experienced Controller to join an industry leading manufacturing company. In this critical role, you'll oversee financial operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all accounting functions. Your expertise in manufacturing accounting will be instrumental in driving financial success. This a full-time on-site position with an annual salary starting at $90,000.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage all aspects of the accounting department, ensuring adherence to GAAP.
  2. Oversee AP/AR processes, optimizing cash flow and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and customers.
  3. Maintain an accurate and up-to-date general ledger.
  4. Direct the monthly closing process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements. Analyze results and prepare detailed variance reports for management.
  5. Review and approve journal entries, with particular attention to complex manufacturing entries such as overhead allocation and inventory adjustments.
  6. Oversee payroll processing for employees, ensuring compliance with labor laws and accurate cost allocation to production.
  7. Conduct regular reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, with a focus on inventory, fixed assets, and accruals.
  8. Manage the complete P&L, providing in-depth analysis of manufacturing costs, margins, and profitability by product line or production unit.
  9. Prepare comprehensive financial reports for senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and financial metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and manufacturing processes
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with inventory valuation methods and production costing
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience managing accounting teams
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders
