Cincinnati, OH 45233 Department: Public Safety Status: Non-Exempt Supervisor Contact Information: Kevin Koo, Chief of Police SET Ground Floor - Campus Police Pay: The Student Employee Pay Wage Policy can be found on myMount Evaluation Period: Annual performance evaluations if the student works the entire academic year. If the student works one semester, the performance evaluation will be completed after that semester Purpose: Assist Campus Police with front desk duties Duties & Responsibilities: Greet visitors, notify offices/residents of arrival Answer/transfer phone calls Provide directions/other information Document/distribute messages via e-mail Communicate phone problems to ISS Receive incoming calls for Campus Police Maintain radio contact with Officers Monitor surveillance cameras Contact County 911 center with emergency information Read fire alarm panels Overnight guest registration Student guests check in and out Monitor master key for RA's Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor that contribute to a team effort by welcoming new and different work requirements; exploring new opportunities to enhance the services of the Campus Police Department and helping others to accomplish job results as needed. Shift assignment: Friday 11 PM - 7 AM Saturday 7 AM - 3 PM Saturday 3 PM - 11 PM Saturday 11 PM - 7 AM Sunday 7 AM - 3 PM Sunday 3 PM - 11 PM Sunday 11 PM - 7 AM Other shifts may be available based on the operational needs of the Campus Police Department Experience: No experience required Customer Service: Provide exceptional service in all responsibilities and interactions while demonstrating versatility in handling people and situations. Adapt willingly and quickly to changing priorities, responsibilities, and students, staff, or customers' needs and expectations, and identify and anticipate the needs of individual customers. Demonstrate an ability to recognize, appreciate and serve customers of culturally diverse populations and other special needs. Demonstrate an enthusiastic approach to duties. Teamwork: Collaborate with others and help make staff a cohesive group. Communicate, cooperate and collaborate with others staff members to achieve Department goals. Willing to assist with various responsibilities within the Police Department, as needed. Communication: Develop and nurture an effective, productive and respectful rapport and working relationship with students, staff and guests while maintaining professionalism. Demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Be courteous and respectful. Demonstrate strong written, telephone, and electronic communication skills Communicate information clearly and concisely and listen well to others. Accuracy: Maintain a high level of accuracy, consistently reviewing work to detect errors, oversights, and omissions. Initiative: Take immediate and independent action when necessary assuming initiative for creative problem-solving. Accomplish tasks with follow through to completion. Technical: Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Must be able to use current video camera system once trained. Must be able to use two-way radio system to dispatch and communicate with on-duty staff. Physical Demands: Long periods in a seated position. Extensive customer contact. Multiple concurrent tasks with service interruption. Confidentiality Computer data input. Qualifications Currently enrolled student at Mount St. Joseph University Residential student preferred Work-study eligible preferred Able to use two-way radios, telephones, fax machine, copy machine and monitor video cameras or any combination of education, experience, or training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform tasks related to this position Ability to work on own initiative, independently, and to deadlines Well organized, punctual, and reliable The ability to communicate sensitively and tactfully, both orally and in writing, with individuals at all levels within the University To apply, please complete the application.
