Job description

Are you ready to join the A-Team and become a valued member of ADB Companies? We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to fill the role of Laborer II. At ADB, we prioritize your safety, growth, and career development, making us a standout employer in the utility construction industry.

As a nationwide full turnkey provider of technology infrastructure solutions, including Wireline, Wireless, Technology, and Engineering, we have built long-term relationships with commercial clients, service providers, and government organizations. Our commitment to our team members' safety, well-being, and career growth is at the core of our mission, vision, and values.

In the role of Laborer II, you will have the opportunity to assist our wireline team in the installation of fiber optic cables for various telecommunication projects. This position is ideal for someone who is eager to grow their career in the utility construction industry. We will provide you with all the necessary tools, training, and support to learn the trade and unlock extensive growth and development opportunities.

Here's what you'll be doing as a key member of our team:

Showcase your mid-level laborer skills by performing various tasks such as hand digging with a shovel, setting up traffic control, operating entry-level equipment, placing fiber, loading materials, and more on safety-sensitive utility construction sites.

Demonstrate your proficiency in utility print and map reading, ensuring accurate and efficient project execution.

Utilize your experience in operating various equipment (such as directional drills, mini, plow, hydro, etc.) to contribute to project success while adhering to safety regulations.

Support the setup and shut down of utility construction projects, including traffic control, in diverse conditions, whether it's on highways, side streets, parking lots, or bustling downtown locations.

Safety is our top priority, and you'll always follow the required safety practices while carrying out your duties.

Immerse yourself in a learning environment, training alongside experienced construction crews to gain expertise in fiber installation, print reading, equipment operations, OSHA requirements, and more.

Be an integral part of the team by loading and unloading materials and equipment from vehicles at construction yards and jobsites.

Embrace leadership responsibilities as the right hand to the Foreman, leading by example, ensuring adherence to safety rules and regulations, and providing guidance to others on the jobsite.

Engage in on-the-job training to become an experienced operator and eventually progress into a Foreman role, further fueling your career growth.

Proactively identify hazards by utilizing the pre-task process, ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.

Be ready to lend a hand in other position duties when requested, showcasing your versatility and commitment to the team's success.

In addition to the exciting responsibilities, we offer a supportive and inclusive work environment where your growth is encouraged. You'll have the opportunity to travel nationwide, honing your skills and expanding your professional network. We firmly believe in the ZERO mindset, where being safe 100% of the time is the expectation.

You'll work in a dynamic environment that may require physical flexibility, such as sitting, squatting, standing, walking, and climbing. While onsite, you may encounter various sounds or noise levels. You'll also experience different weather conditions, ranging from hot and humid to cold and snowy. Your safety is paramount, and you'll be required to wear common protective safety equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel-toed boots.

To be considered for this opportunity, we require a minimum of 1 year of utility construction experience and at least 6 months of heavy equipment operations, including Hydro, Drill, Mini, and Plow. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is necessary, and a CDL License (or the ability to obtain one) is also required.
