SMV Recruiting is actively searching for a Steel Construction Foreman for our client in Syracuse, NY. Our client is The ideal candidate will have 5-7+ years experience with pre-engineered steel buildings with the ability to read full blueprints/drawings and manage the construction of the building, coupled with strong leadership/management experience and welding experience. You will be managing a crew of 7 and assigning daily tasks in order to complete the construction of 25,000-95,000+ sqft pre-engineered builldings in a timely manner. You will also travel no more than about 1.5 hours (majority of the time it is closer) outside of Syracuse to the job sites, walk the grounds to ensure crew is doing their assigned tasks and providing updates to the Team Lead. This is a direct hire role with full benefits, ability to work overtime, possibility for relocaiton and overall this is an excellent company to work for! Repsonsibilities:

• Supervise, motivate, train and hold staff of 7+ accountable


• Assign tasks to the crew of 7 that aligns with project deadlines


• Read drawings/blueprints to properly construct pre engineered steel buildings


• Meet with the Team Lead to provide updates on the building(s)


• Walk the grounds and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner


• Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and magni lifts as needed


• Welding as needed on the site

Requirements:

• 5-7+ years experience working with pre-engineered buildings is required


• 2-3+ years experience reading drawings or blueprints for pre-engineered buildings is strongly preferred


• 3-5+ years experience managing a team is required


• Welding experience is required


• Ability to operate fork lifts, scissor lifts and magni lifts is required
