Job Title: Seasonal Edible Bean General Laborer

Location: Johnstown ND (30 Miles from Grand Forks ND)
Employment Type: Seasonal, Full-Time
Duration: September - November

Job Summary: We are seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals for the role of Seasonal Edible Bean General Laborer. The primary responsibility will be to assist with the planting, cultivation, and harvesting of edible beans. This position involves physical labor and outdoor work, requiring good stamina and the ability to work efficiently as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Planting and Cultivation: Assist with planting edible bean seeds according to established guidelines and schedules. Perform routine tasks such as weeding, fertilizing, and pest control.
• Maintenance: Ensure proper irrigation and monitor bean crops for signs of disease or other issues. Assist with maintaining farm equipment and tools.
• Harvesting: Participate in the harvesting process, which includes picking, sorting, and packing edible beans. Operate harvesting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Cleaning and Preparation: Prepare fields for planting by clearing debris and maintaining cleanliness. Follow protocols for storing harvested beans.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment as required.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members and follow instructions from farm supervisors. Communicate any issues or concerns promptly.

Qualifications:

• Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
• Experience: Previous experience in agriculture or a similar field is advantageous but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
• Skills: Basic knowledge of crop management and farm equipment is helpful. Ability to operate machinery and tools safely.
• Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
• Availability: Flexible availability to work long hours, including weekends and early mornings, as required by the growing season.
