Job description

Overview: The Quality Lead is responsible for daily supervision of the Quality Lab operations for the Alliance One North America Stemmery. Directs hourly team members in the Quality department, providing leadership and guidance to ensure in-process and finished product meet customer expectations. The role will assist in investigating all customer quality issues. In carrying out these responsibilities, this role will liaise with production, shipping personnel and general management, keeping each area informed and up to date with all quality issues. Job Content and Duties: Provides a leadership role and supervises the daily lab routine. Responsible for guiding the Quality team towards achieving plant KPI's Collects and test product based on customer and company methods and procedures. Compiles all test data accurately and in a timely manner Maintains appropriate staff and safety practices in area Promotes good housekeeping and safety practices in area Ensures compliance with Company Rules and Regulations Ensures equipment is working properly and well maintained Maintaining of Calibration Records Data entry in computer system and generate reports Prepares samples according to the established procedures Interfaces with production staff to maximize efficiency and minimize non-conforming product Assists to improve the ISO 9001 QMS Validation and verification of Quality Test Requirements for 3 production lines Experience and Education Minimum High School diploma - College degree preferred 2 years' supervisory/ management experience required 2-3 years' experience in a testing lab environment 1-2 years' experience in a manufacturing plant Proficient in MS Office suite and general computer skills ISO Internal Auditor training preferred Knowledge of chemistry, lab, testing and safety procedures
