Duties, Responsibilities & Other:
Assist Practice Leaders (PLs)and Regional Practice Leader (RPL) in Leading / Growing KCI's Construction Management Practice in North Carolina.
Identify and position KCI for precuring opportunities in Maintenance Engineering and Inspection (ME&I)
Assist staff to target municipality projects/pursuits and tracking of STIPs.
Serve as Part-time Project Manager for ME&I and or Municipal projects in North Carolina.
Proposal Development -Identify CE&I opportunities to better position KCI for projects through understanding the challenges, issues, risk, concerns, and needs of the client so that KCI can prepare responsive proposals. In Conjunction with the PL and RPL, assist in the development of the marketing strategy to peruse and capture those targeted opportunities.
Identify / Recruit / Train additional staff as needed to grow/develop NC's Construction Management staff.
Assist Transportation South in growing Construction Management, Design, and Design/Build practices.
Assist in "cross-marketing" all disciplines within the geography.
Provide Leadership/Mentorship within the NC staff.
Get familiar with KCI's financial and project reports for future development.
Serve as KCI delegate to key Professional Organizations (i.e., ACEC, CAGC, DBIA, other,etc.)
Experience applying knowledge of federal, FHWA, state and local transportation rules, regulations and policies. Ability to read and explain complex drawings and specifications to juniors.
10+ years of experience preferred
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Secondary degrees such as Master, licenses and certifications preferred.
Minimum of 6 - 10 years of experience.
Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
Performance Expectations:
Complete Annual Individual Training Program
Hire and train additional personnel as required
Submit for approval and deliver timely annual Employee Performance Appraisals for assigned staff
Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence
Develop and maintain customer relationships by soliciting monthly performance feedback, identifying client needs, and identifying the next project
Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
Ensure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements
Establish strong working relationship with client, contractors, and design engineers
Maintain active participation in professional and business organizations
Manage work routine of all assigned staff and assign job activities as required
Complete other duties as required/assigned
Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target
Assist with receivables management
Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope
Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required
Ensure effective use of equipment and personnel
Manage project schedule and track burn rate to deliver all projects on time and within KCI's budget while fully meeting scope
Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters
Analyze change orders and disputes and make recommendations to the owner
Maintain document control for correspondence, RFIs, submittals, etc.
Prepare and analyze schedules
Prepare cost estimates
Read plans and specifications and understand the construction contractor's means and methods
Solve construction problems in the field
Test, document, and assure quality of contractor's work
