Position: Accountant

Location: Statesville, NC

Worksite Arrangement: In-office

Salary: $50,000 annually

Overview:

Avenica is currently evaluating talent for a Staff Accountant to join as a key member of the loccal team, reporting to the General Manager and VP of Finance. In this role, you will support the accounting function within the local office that drives growth, supports our processes and ensures compliance. You will work closely with the CEO of MPD and the other leaders in the business.

Job Description:

Support the accounting operations of the local business.

Prepare and submit milestone progress billings for job work.

Prepare monthly reports for AR & AP.

Monitor Accounts Receivable/collection.

Maintain and track all costs related to construction projects, and complete month end revenue and cost accruals based on percentage of completion accounting.

Collaborate with project managers to monitor project budgets, costs, and profitability.

Track cash flow on a weekly and monthly basis and advise how to optimize our company cash outlays.

Process Accounts Payable invoices and W-9 verification for new vendors.

Reconcile monthly deposits along with making online bank deposits and cash application.

Post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts as needed.

Process monthly bank reconciliations.

Review, approve, and process payroll and expense reports

Complete month-end closing process with assistance from Holdco finance leader and others in the business.

Manage cash including monitoring balances, receipts, and disbursements, as well as maintaining rolling cash flow forecasts.

Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance required.

Advanced knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Office and Google Workspace products, and other tools commonly used by accounting and finance teams

Strong analytical skills with the ability to connect business actions with financial outcomes

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify and communicate complex financial issues to executives, peers and staff.

A commitment to working as a member of a team and the ability to quickly gain the trust, confidence and respect of peers, customers and external partners.

You want to live in or near Statesville, NC as this is an in-office position with some opportunity to work remote.
