Job description

Chase Corporation, Hickory NC facility is looking for a night shift supervisor. Must have at least 3 years of supervisory experience. This is a 12- hour overnight shift from 7pm-7am. Previous manufacturing experience preferred. Requires regular supervision of 15-20 employees. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Additional Responsibilities as Assigned) Monitor productivity guidelines, while meeting daily production goals Use work orders to determine quantity of product, packaging requirements, and other specifications Use production schedules to estimate manpower requirements for completion of job assignments and inform employees of their daily objectives minimizing downtime. Ensure all associates follow safety and procedural guidelines including quality, process and changeover procedures. Monitor training of all new employees and keep management informed on their progress Work with management to develop and implement continuous improvement activities Conduct performance evaluations at 30/60/90-day intervals as well as annual evaluations Must be familiar with ISO and OSHA requirements Provide plans for improvement and/or disciplinary actions as required Maintain employee time and attendance and ensure accuracy Notify maintenance of needed adjustments or repairs to machinery or equipment • Work closely with other Supervisors to maintain consistency. Evaluate and improve on processes in manufacturing systems Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers Develop innovative solutions Improve process capability and production volume while maintaining and improving quality standards Prepare samples for study, collect, record, and transcribe data as well as being able to show results in reports. Develop and implement systems that optimize all phases of production process. Provide suggestions during incident investigations. Advise on corrective actions. Education High School Diploma or GED required. Knowledge and Experience Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment Experience in training associates in job activities and coaching for success Computer skills including Word and Excel required • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Must be able to regularly walk & stand for up to 8 hours Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally push/pull up to 100 pounds Must be able to work in moderate heat Must be able to wear safety shoes (steel or composite toe) and safety glasses
