Yoh Scientific is actively recruiting for the following contract assignment at a clinical laboratory company located in Greensboro, NC!
This is an entry-level opportunity for candidate interested in clinical laboratory.
Must be available for third shift and have reliable transportation.

Title: Lab Assistant
Location: Greensboro, NC
Duration: 3-month duration, possible extension but not a guarantee
Pay Rate: 19.78/hour
Work Schedule: Third shift, overnight (M-F; 11pm 7:30am)
Responsibilities:
Perform various routine laboratory functions in a precise and accurate fashion to assist the laboratory professional staff and to facilitate production. Perform the daily activities as described below:
- Sorting, and receiving specimens in the department.
- Performs routine instrument maintenance on some equipment.
- Performs laboratory tasks of centrifuging specimens, printing extra labels, recording data (temperature charts) specimen storage and retrieval.
- Preparing reagents and or media in the department.
- Preparing specimens at workstations for testing. (Including building worklists, aliquoting specimens into sample cups, checking specimens for clots and fibrin, inoculation, slide preparation)
- Performs QA/QC duties as assigned.
- Resolves pending lists.
- Finds missing samples.
- Decontaminates work areas.
- Performs weekly radioactive wipe tests.
- Maintains files for department records.
- Changes gas cylinders.
- Follows all PPE requirements and all safety regulations.
- Uses the laboratory computer system as well as operates PCs.
- Disposes of biohazardous material.
- Completes training and competency checklists as appropriate.

Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Math and science courses preferred. Medical assistant training helpful.
- Work Experience: None required but should have interest in gaining clinical laboratory experience.
- Must be able to follow all PPE requirements and safety regulations.
- Must be able to use and operate PCs and laboratory computer systems.
- Must have the ability to establish work priorities and to handle several tasks for maximum workstation efficiency.
- Must be able to retain information once learned.
- Must interact with other coworkers, internal and external customers with courtesy and respect.
- Must be able to work night shift, M-F 11pm 7:30am. Candidate must have reliable transportation to get to/from worksite without issue. Must be on-time and available for the entire shift.

Pay Rate: $19.78/hour
