Job description

OVERVIEW
Primarily responsible for providing technical assistance to producers caring for the company's birds to ensure the highest level of quality and care.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Must work with and solve grower problems; establish a good working relationship between producers and the Company.

Provide current science as directed by the Company to maximize farm production. Advise producers regarding building and equipment specifications.

Advise producers on litter manipulation and farm sanitation.

Routinely visit farms (frequent travel).

Properly document bird comfort, flock management, and equipment settings. Direct light and feed schedules.

Monitor: bird health, body weight, conformation, monitor feed consumption. Pulling blood and fat samples promptly.

Effectively coordinating bird placements to the farms and helping with catch schedules, while ensuring effective communication between, Feed Mill, vaccination crews, and Live haul as it pertains to contract.

Ensure the producer and company comply with the production contract to produce flocks of the highest quality and lowest cost ensuring good performance.

Ensure USDA and other government regulations are effectively followed when handling poultry.

All other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
College (minimum 2 years), prefer bachelor's degree in Poultry Science or similar field. 2+ year's applicable experience - Broilers or Breeders Farms.

Experience in leading organizational development and design activities.

Proactive. Must be able to work without supervision.

Must be able to climb a ladder to height of 25 ft., lift 50 lbs. and stoop and squat repeatedly.

Must be self-motivated and organized, an independent thinker and be able to apply knowledge to field situations.

Will travel locally each day.

Must have a clean driving record.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The ability to sit, drive, walk and climb.

Lift up to 75 lbs.

Work around raw, live animal odors.

Work in noisy environment (>85 decibels) and around moving equipment.

Work nights, weekends, holidays, and long shifts as needed.
