General Support Mechanic (Contingent Upon Contract Award) Duties/Responsibilities: This position is responsible for all repairs and preventative maintenance to GSE equipment. Advises and trains lower grade workers on diagnosis and repair of less complex repair/maintenance problems. The General Mechanic diagnoses malfunctions and repairs Ground Support Equipment, advises and trains lower grade workers on diagnosis and repair of less complex repair/maintenance problems, This mechanic prepares for storage and mobility deployment; and operates, cleans, inspects, and services towing vehicles. In addition to maintaining vehicle records, this mechanic maintains and updates paper and electronic equipment records, providing dispatch service for GSE Equipment Conduct thorough inspections of wheeled vehicles, including engines, transmissions, power train components, hydraulic systems, and fuel system components. Perform servicing, maintenance, and repairs to keep vehicles in optimal condition. Inspect, adjust, and test parts and systems to ensure functionality. Handle maintenance-related administrative tasks, including record-keeping and reporting. This mechanic prepares GSE for storage and mobility deployment; and operates, cleans, inspects, and services GSE towing vehicles. Maintains external fuel and grounding systems, performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE, inspects, tests, and operates GSE to determine equipment serviceability and proper operation, services equipment with fuel, oil, water, coolant, hydraulic fluid, refrigerant, and compressed air, diagnoses mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications. Minimum Qualifications: Must have the ability to climb up the back of Ground Support Equipment Extremely knowledgeable in U.S. Army maintenance procedures on GSE Equipment The ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening is required. Must have an active and valid Driver's License.
