Job description

We are seeking a Lead UX Designer to join a small product design team working to bring a new mobile-native product to market. One of our critical and highly visible initiatives is building and scaling industry-leading lending digital applications and experiences for our customers. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, reliable, detailed, and driven to produce high quality work. This individual must thrive in a fast-paced environment.

In the Role

  • Partner closely with team leads and internal stakeholders to create empathetic, simple, and human-centric design solutions that define our product experience.

  • Work collaboratively with other designers on your team to create conceptual wireframes, prototypes, and final designs for consumer-facing websites and mobile apps considering user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.

  • Own product features through launch, ensuring we're shipping meaningful and quality experience

  • Help to develop, use, and maintain a design system that delivers a consistent and on-brand experience throughout all of our digital experiences, both website and mobile apps.

  • Ask smart questions, take risks, and champion new ideas to push the user experience of our product

  • Give and solicit feedback from other designers, product management, and engineering during weekly reviews and standups

  • Participate in design workshops to explore innovative solutions for problems and opportunities identified through research and data.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in either agency or product related environments designing consumer facing digital experiences

  • 2+ years of experience leading and developing others; preferably a team

  • Expertise building successful and engaging mobile applications; experience building consumer facing membership-based mobile apps is a plus

  • Extensive experience designing and launching mobile applications for the most current iOS and Android versions

  • Experience designing mobile-first and responsive web pages

  • Hands on experience with Angular or similar web application frameworks

  • Ability to rapidly iterate and produce multiple concepts and solutions

  • Experience with both qualitative and quantitative testing

  • Proficiency with design and prototyping software such as Sketch, Figma and Invision

  • Knowledge of UX best practices and trends

  • Strong understanding of information hierarchy and typography

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • Understanding of how data and qualitative research inform product and design decisions
