Transport Manager

Olive Recruiting is looking for an experienced Transport Manager to support our client in Charlotte, NC. This is an essential role that is involved in project processes from planning to procurement to logistics. They enable efficient planning and execution of transport, ensuring higher customer satisfaction.

Location: Charlotte, NC

Full-time, direct hire with client

Schedule: In-office, Monday-Friday

Compensation: $80,000-$100,000 annual salary (pending experience) with a strong, comprehensive benefits package

Responsibilities:

Directing activities related to planning, procuring, dispatching, routing, and tracking of transportation vehicles while maintaining Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations

Oversees transportation operations, including planning, procuring, dispatching, routing, and tracking of vehicles, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and company standards

Manages and organizes team activities (dispatchers, drivers, owner-operator drivers etc.) to align with company objectives, and directs investigations to resolve customer or shipper complaints

Collaborates with staff to develop transportation procedures, meet revenue targets, and uphold customer service standards

Schedules and coordinates vehicle repairs and maintenance, ensuring adherence to transportation policies, safety rules, union contracts, and government regulations. Conducts safety audits and attends safety meetings to promote a safe work environment

Conducts research on transportation costs and methods to improve network efficiency, and investigates lost shipments

Communicates with production managers on supply status, develops transportation routes, and creates timelines for each phase of the transportation cycle

Analyzes delivery times and costs to identify savings opportunities, writes policies for handling transportation delays, and manages reporting on shipping and delivery metrics

Qualifications:

Extensive background in transport operations, freight forwarding, or logistics, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or a related field preferred but not required

Excellent communicator with a strong teamwork orientation, well-versed in industry standards, regulations, and best practices

Detail-oriented and committed to precision and accuracy

Authorized to work in the United States
