Job description

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of the department while managing a dedicated team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining strong internal controls, implementing strategic initiatives, and driving process improvements. The Accounts Payable Manager will play a critical role in optimizing payment processes, ensuring accuracy, and fostering a culture of efficiency and automation. This role requires a proactive leader who can enhance team performance, improve workflows, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of an Accounts Payable team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments.
  • Oversee all functions within Accounts Payable, maintaining compliance with established policies and protocols.
  • Develop and enforce internal controls, setting departmental priorities and strategic initiatives.
  • Drive process improvements and automation to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Implement best practices for invoice processing, vendor payments, and reconciliation of accounts.
  • Assign projects and provide guidance to staff, ensuring adherence to deadlines and accuracy in reporting.
  • Analyze financial data and performance metrics to optimize the department's operations and adjust goals based on business needs.
  • Collaborate with IT and product teams to implement and test new systems that enhance the payment process.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure productivity, accuracy, and turnaround times.
  • Communicate departmental goals, strategies, and operational results to the team and stakeholders.
  • Lead performance management, including coaching, development planning, and regular reviews for direct reports.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews and develop growth and improvement plans.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to align with business goals and ensure target achievements.
  • Foster a team environment that encourages accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience in Accounting management or related roles, with experience leading and developing a team.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, with a focus on achieving results and driving change.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, databases, and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of performance management and employee development strategies.
