Job description

As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the production team, coordinating production schedules, and ensuring product quality meets our high standards.

My client is a leading manufacturer of high-quality Retail & Foodservice food products.

Description

  • Production Management:
    • Supervise and coordinate all bakery production activities.
    • Ensure production schedules are met and products are produced on time.
    • Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed.
    • Generate End of Shift Production report
  • Quality Control:
    • Maintain high-quality standards for all bakery products.
    • Implement and oversee quality control measures.
    • Adhere to product specifications standards.
    • Address any issues related to product quality promptly.
    • Ensure all quality documentation is filled out accurately.
    • Ensure all traceability protocols are followed for each production run.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, train, and motivate production team members.
    • Ensure employees are properly trained on internal Food safety and quality standards and SOPs.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
    • Ensure a positive and productive work environment.
  • Food Safety and Compliance:
    • Enforce safety protocols and GMPs standards in the bakery.
    • Ensure all areas are ready, cleaned, and adhering to sanitation standards prior to production.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Conduct regular safety training and meetings.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and supplies for daily production.
    • Manage waste and optimize resource utilization.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Continuously seek ways to improve production efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Conduct root cause investigations relating to product deviations and customer complaints.
    • Implement corrective and preventive actions generated from root cause investigations.

Profile

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as a Production Supervisor, preferably in a bakery or food manufacturing setting, preferred.
  • Strong understanding of bakery operations and product knowledge.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of food safety and GMPs regulations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office, with experience in VAI, SAP, JD Edwards, or any other ERP system.
  • Bilingual - English and Spanish is required.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • College or technical school or have 5 years of working experience in a similar position.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading or supervising a production team.
  • The ability to organize, manage and direct the activities of others.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work any shift, time, day, or holiday.
  • Must be able to work in an environment containing flour dust, wheat, milk, and nuts (allergens).
  • Must be able to exert force or lift up to 50 pounds constantly, must be able to constantly exert force sufficient to move objects such as tables, stairs mixing bowls etc.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend stairways, ladders, and ramps.
  • Must be able to stand for a long period of time, climb, reach, walk, lift, grasp, feel, bend and twist.
  • Must have the ability to perform repetitive tasks quickly and accurately.
