Concern Housing is seeking an Overnight Counselor who will be primarily responsible for the overall monitoring and safety of the residents and the sites.

Position: Weekend Overnight Counselor
Location: Shoreham, NY
Schedule: Saturday and Sunday; 12am-8am
Salary: $19.00/hr.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Read log for updates, instructions, and assignments.
Enforce lights out & television out in common rooms at 12:00 a.m. on weekdays. 1:30 a.m. weekends (Friday & Saturday eve). Perform an initial walk-through to enforce this rule as well.
Filing, organizing charts, office cleaning, photocopying, etc., as assigned and/or as needed.
Provide brief counseling as needed, redirect to regular staff when appropriate.
Crisis intervention as needed.
Be available via office phone to residents to do all of the above as needed.
Perform hourly walk-throughs during your shift.
Unlock kitchen and pantries in both sites for breakfast.
Participate in monitoring of morning meds as needed.
Prompt clients needing to wake early.
Attend staff meetings as scheduled.
Attend agency forums.
Perform weekly fire safety system checks.
Perform 1x a month fire drills, at varying hours.
Complete a fire drill report.
Counsel clients on proper exiting.
Remain current with all Agency required compliance documents and trainings.

Qualifications: Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent along with at least two years of experience in a similar role.
