Job description

The VP of Quality Assurance is responsible for ensuring that all products meet rigorous safety and quality standards, overseeing compliance with regulations, and implementing best practices across production processes.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the company's food safety and quality strategy in alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international food safety regulations, including FDA, USDA, and other relevant bodies.
  • Quality Management: Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality management systems and standards to ensure consistent product quality and safety.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential food safety risks and quality issues, and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the food safety and quality team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Audits and Inspections: Coordinate and manage internal and external audits and inspections, addressing findings and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs to ensure staff are knowledgeable about food safety and quality standards and practices.
  • Customer Relations: Address customer complaints and quality concerns, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Innovation and Improvement: Drive innovation in food safety and quality practices, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management on food safety and quality performance, including key metrics, compliance status, and improvement initiatives

Profile

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field (Master's degree or relevant certification preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in food safety and quality management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, quality assurance methodologies, and industry best practices.
  • Proven track record of successful team leadership, strategic planning, and project management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with food safety management systems (e.g., HACCP, SQF, BRC) and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
