Tact Staff is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in West Bronx, New York.

Job Description & Requirements

Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Prefer CCRN.

- # Beds: 11Beds, Typically 6 nurses per shift.
- Nurse: Patient Ratios: 1:1-2, can have 3 when short staffed.
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Prefer: CCRN
- Common diagnoses: Post Cath, anything cardiac, post surgical, and more.
- Experience: Must have CVICU, SICU, or MICU ICU experience.
- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Must be able to titrate all critical drips.
- Common titratable: Pressors, sedation, paralytics, antiarrhythmics, & insulin.
- Charge Nurse: Charge Nurse- has a patient assignment.
- Nurse aids: PCTs, Typically 1 per shift.
- Hospitalist: Fellows/Residents in house 24/7. Attendings not on-site 24/6.
- RT in ICU 24/7: 1- may be assigned to multiple units. RTs will manage equipment, nurse to administer breathing
treatments.
- RT Equipment: Cpap, Bipap, Vents, Trachs
- Tele/Monitor Techs: Centralized Tele Monitoring at Nurses Station- no tele techs; Nurses must be able to read
and interpret their own tele strips.
- Shifts & Scheduling: 7-7:30. Travelers to give availability and they will do their best to accommodate requests,
but ask travelers to stay flexible and fill gaps in permanent scheduling; do not guarantee block scheduling.
Excessive call-ins are taken seriously and could lead to termination.
- Weekend Requirements: At least 2 Weekends per 4 week schedule; Sat & Sun for both Days & Night Shift.
- Holiday Requirements: May be asked to go into the Holiday Rotation.
- Is there a call or standby requirement?: No
- Floating Requirements: Travelers first to float; only to stepdown 1:3-3.
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue
- Unit Specific Orientation: 1 days classroom, 1 day with preceptor.
