LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced part-time interim Tax Attorney (W2) in NYC. This position is ideal for a local professional who can work on an as-needed basis, with a flexible schedule that may involve in-office work one day a week . The role may vary with some weeks requiring no in-office presence.

Location : New York, NY (local candidates preferred)

Hours : Up to 20 hours per week

Assignment Length : 4 Months

Target Start Date : First week of September

Pay Rate : $100 - $125 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert guidance on general corporate taxation, partnership and joint venture tax, and New York City and State tax matters
• Structure corporate, partnership, fund, and real estate transactions, ensuring compliance and optimization of tax strategies
• Draft tax provisions for various legal documents including operating agreements, limited partnership agreements, shareholder agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and private placement memorandums (PPMs)
• Represent clients with a focus on Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), offering specialized knowledge and experience

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) with 4+ years of experience in tax law, particularly in the areas of corporate, partnership, and real estate taxation
• Strong preference for candidates with a New York Bar admission, though it is not required
• Experience within a law firm setting is preferred, with demonstrable experience handling complex tax matters
• Proven ability to structure transactions and draft related documents with precision and expertise
• Experience with REITs is highly desirable
