Mid-Senior level Litigation Attorney role focusing on high-net-worth/ specialist insurance coverage defense. Hybrid (2-days/ week in office), opportunity to work with a high respected law firm.

Offering a genuinely healthy approach to work-life balance, this highly ranked AM Law 100 firm, is looking to appoint a hybrid Litigation Attorney to focus on insurance defense work for high-net-value/ specialized insurance coverage.

Great role for a Litigation Attorney with 4+ years experience in insurance coverage. The role involves representation of international and domestic insurers during claim investigations and litigation concerning policy defenses of first party insurance. Must be collaborative and able to act independently throughout the litigation process, with an interest in developing an expertise in insurance coverage work in a unique area. The ideal candidate will be someone who thrives within a busy, stimulating and fast-paced team environment.

Open to California or Washington State bar, the firm will also consider candidates relocating to NY, LA or Orange County (open to NY, Nevada, Oregon, Washington State or California bar)

Description

As Litigation Attorney - Insurance, Key Responsibilities will include:

• Taking depositions, attending court hearings and mediation
• Drafting motions, pleadings, briefs, discovery requests and interrogatories, and other legal correspondence/ litigation documents
• Varied matters including analyzing insurance policies, draft coverage opinions and provide coverage advice and recommendations to clients
• Work with investigators and experts
• Actively contribute to the development and maintenance of client relationships

Profile

The successful Litigation Attorney - Insurance, demonstrable experience will include:

• Admitted to practice in NY (or another US state if wanting to relocate for the role)
• 3+ years relevant Litigation Attorney experience
• First-party insurance coverage experience (e.g. marine, fine art and specie, property, specialty, contingency, special events, cyber etc.) highly beneficial
• Commercial litigation experience including the taking of depositions, conduct of oral arguments and discovery
• Federal court experience
• Strong writing, organizational and time management skills
• Relevant hands-on work history.

Job Offer

The Litigation Attorney - Insurance, will be receive the following benefits:

• $175,000-$220,000 base salary (depending on experience)

• Generous wider benefits package including 18 weeks' fully paid parental leave, monthly and annual performance bonus (1900 hours billable target)
