Job description

The Junior Estimator will play a critical role in supporting our estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for various civil construction projects. Description

  1. Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, including infrastructure, roadways, and site development.
  2. Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate quantity takeoffs.
  3. Collaborate with senior estimators, project managers, and other team members to gather information and clarify project scope.
  4. Research and source pricing for materials, labor, and equipment.
  5. Participate in bid reviews and help ensure estimates meet project requirements and company standards.
  6. Maintain and update cost databases and historical data for future reference.
  7. Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and documentation.
  8. Support in the evaluation of subcontractor and supplier quotes.

Profile

  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. (preferred)
  2. 1-3 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in civil projects.
  3. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  4. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project).
  5. Familiarity with construction methods, materials, and regulations in New York.
  6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  7. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
