Job description

Building Blocks is a multi-service developmental and educational organization founded on the principle of helping children and adults reach their greatest potential. We are looking for a Part-Time/Pier Diem Speech Therapist to oversee current and future Clinical Fellows as they work with a pediatric caseload. In addition, be able to provide Early Intervention core and supplemental speech evaluations as available.

Duties/Responsibilities as Clinical Fellow (CF) Supervisor:
Provide CF supervision to current and future CFs;
Review and sign off on notes, and assist with creating quarterly progress reports, and/or justification letters, and document the child's progress toward meeting established objectives and according to program rules and regulations;
Be available via phone, email, text, to provide support to CF;
Assist with creating a treatment plan and instructional materials to support and measure child's progress, and implement achievable functional goals;
Assist with developing and implementing individualized services plans for assigned cases;
Follow ASHA and the NY State Licensing Board guidelines for a Clinical Fellowship supervisor, take required training, and complete required paperwork;

Duties/Responsibilities as an Evaluator:
Evaluate children as a part of a team or independently depending on need;
Become proficient in all testing materials used;
Use provided templates to write a clear and concise report for the children tested and complete in a timely manner;
Work well as part of a team to collaborate on all aspects of the evaluation;

For both parts of the position:
Adheres to all current federal and state laws, as well as Building Blocks' policy and procedures, including the safeguarding of confidential healthcare information and compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Report immediately any suspected incidents of child abuse or neglect to the Child Abuse Hotline.
Attends staff/agency meetings remotely
Perform all other duties relevant to the position as requested.

Education/Experience:
Master's degree in Speech Pathology required.
New York State license as a speech pathologist required.
Current ASHA certification
