Overview:

Title: Supervisor Of Education , Enhanced Family Foster Care

Reports to: Assistant Director of Youth Development

Location: 7 West Burnside Avenue, Bronx, New York 10453

Hours: 35 Hours/Week; Exempt

Salary:72K-78K

Job Summary: Oversee the Education team which consists of Education Specialists working to ensure the academic needs of children and adolescents in foster care are being met. Supporting team members in the delivery of services related to Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle/High School and Post-Secondary school while also implementing Fair Futures.

Major Duties:

Provide weekly supervision and team meetings for supervisees and direct reports.

Recruit, hire and evaluate team members.

Participate in all trainings, workshops and learning collaboratives related to DOE, Education Collaboratives with AFC, ACS, and Fair Futures.

Provide professional development opportunities such as attending trainings, identifying areas for growth, celebrating, and acknowledging strengths and progress.

Efficient communication with program staff which promotes a cohesive and collaborative environment to promote a positive working relationship between staff and team members

Responsible for data collection to support private funding related to youth programming and for collaboration with agency grant writers to complete proposals or reports for private grants.

Assist specialists in locating community resources for referrals of services to participants that GSS does not provide directly (i.e. tutoring, internship opportunities, employment opportunities, college supports, etc.)

Ensure record keeping that meets all Administration for Children Services (ACS) standards as per PAMS Scorecard, case record review, and COA standards.

Regularly review and optimize usage of data for case practice including ACS/OCFS data, Department of Education data, and internal Good Shepherd Services data.

Collaborate with the supervisory team to implement and communicate program policy and procedures.

Participate in various internal clinical and/or planning meetings (i.e. Family Team Conferences (FTC's), Education Roundtables, Therapeutic Team Treatment meetings, and Red Flag meetings).

Represent Good Shepherd Services and the needs of GSS children and youth at community meetings such as the Fair Futures Learning Collaboratives, ACS Education Forum, et.al.

Promote and model the seven Sanctuary Model commitments to create a non-violent and trauma-sensitive culture

Integrate the Sanctuary Model SELF (Safety, Emotional Management, Loss and Future) framework into daily practice to ensure quality care and an effective work environment.

Review Documentation in Connections, SharePoint, and Care4

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Masters of Social Work or Master's Degree in a related field required

Minimum of three years' experience in child welfare required.

Some supervisory or group work experience preferred

Knowledge of adolescent development.

Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills necessary.

Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred.

Must have a commitment to work from a strength based, family and youth development perspective.
