Job description

Our client seeks a Computer Support Specialist to assist with activities related to federal and state complaint and surveillance processes in Article 28 facilities across the state. These facilities include hospitals, diagnostic and treatment centers, ambulatory surgical centers, and dialysis facilities.

The Computer Support Specialist will:

Maintain and update a spreadsheet database for hospital and Article 28 facility complaints processed as case reviews.

Attend staff meetings where patient cases are reviewed, logging decisions and maintaining detailed records.

Handle email and postal correspondence related to complaints and manage uploads to centralized online storage.

Monitor and log department voicemails, including complaints related to hospitalization and visitation.

Core Duties:

Scan, electronically file, and distribute CHIP complaint copies to supervisors.

Manage the filing and disposal of paper complaints in line with DOH documentation protocols.

Maintain CHIP case log spreadsheets.

Process and upload correspondence for CHIP reviewers.

Utilize multiple data sources to assist with variance analysis for Hospital and EMS COVID-19 data when required.

Maintain contact databases for Hospital and EMS providers, supporting COVID-19 ad hoc requests and activities.

Undertake special assignments and projects as directed.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

One year of office experience

Well-organized and detail-oriented

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical individuals

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

Experience in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multitask and work within complex databases

Proven effectiveness in communicating with complainants, providers, and staff
