Responsibilities Peraton has an immediate opening for a Jr.-Mid level System Administrator (SA) to support our NASA government clients at the Goddard Space Flight Facility and White Sands Complex (WSC) in Las Cruces, N.M. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment supporting the Laser Communication Relay Demonstration (LCRD) Mission Operations Team (MOT). The work will encompass day to day systems operations duties implementing, monitoring, fixing information systems and providing support for the project's local and remote end users. As prime contractor on the Peraton Space Exploration Networks Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract, Peraton is responsible for the operation, maintenance, sustainment, and systems engineering of NASA's worldwide satellite communication networks. In this position, you will become part of NASA's return to the moon, support new earth and space science missions, and launch vehicles. You will be an integral part of a world class team that ensures NASA space-ground communications are reliable and meet mission requirements. This position will be responsible for:
Administer servers, desktop computers, software deployments, security updates and patches.
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Create, change, and delete user accounts per Access Management Systems
Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
Creation and publication of local operating procedures
Perform IT Security Compliance and Vulnerability scans.
Work with the operations team, vendors, and other engineers to identify and execute process improvements and other enhancements intended to improve operational efficiency.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and provide deliverables by established deadlines.
Work both in a team and independently.Qualifications Required Experience: Active Top Secret security clearance is required. Candidate must also possess SCI eligibility and the ability to obtain a polygraph. Bachelor's degree in computer science, or other related technical field and 2 years' experience; in lieu of formal education, HS diploma (or GED equivalent) and 6 years of related experience is allowable. 2 years' experience MS Windows and Red Hat Linux administration.
2 years' experience IT Help Desk support.
2 years' networking experience.
2 years' experience working with cyber (IT) security concepts.
Desired Experience: Completed Security+ certification.
Experience with SIEM tools Experience in shell scripting
Experience in performing credentialed scans utilizing Tenable Nessus Pro Suite
Experience with CISCO firewalls, switches and routers. Experience with VMWare product suite, including:
ESXi Server Infrastructure
vCenter configuration and management knowledge
vMotion configuration and management knowledge
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Target Salary Range $66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
