YOU'D LIKE TO DO THIS We are seeking a Production Engineer to play a critical role in successfully transitioning products from pre-production engineering to initial production and customer acceptance. The selected candidate will collaborate with cross-functional peers to ensure traceability of product performance and quality requirements, as well as supervise creation and collection of product data throughout manufacturing process and provide feedback and corrective actions to area leaders. This job requires interpretation of technical specs for materials, understanding, for instance, the contents of an X-ray screening of a lot, understanding the technical difference between various material processing methods. Additionally, you will aggregate the output of many manufacturing engineers and suppliers contributing to a program. In this role you will: Leverage in-depth understanding of customer requirements, quality standards, and manufacturing processes to manage product transition to production efficiently while ensuring product quality and acceptance requirements can be documented and demonstrated. Oversee development of statements of work (suppliers) and production plans (internal) to ensure product KPP's, CPP's, inspection requirements, certifications, and documentation are thoroughly and consistently applied and documented. Audit process documentation (Statements of Work, Certificates of Conformance, Work Instructions, Travelers, Tracer documents) before, during and after production to formally screen and accept production materials and end products. Maintain, create, audit and present EIDPs (End Item Data Packages) to internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, quality engineers and auditors, and product engineers to ensure necessary performance and conformance evidence can be obtained and recorded according to product specifications. Make recommendations to improve product verification methods, streamline information collection, error-proof evidence collection and documentation, and improve auditability of in process and post-process evidence. Adapt Engineering BOMs to Manufacturing BOMs, to support production plan management, incorporate planned scrap, mitigate risks, and ensure traceability between production steps. Interact across all levels of the organization; efficiently and effectively communicate and implement agreed upon changes; navigate difficult situations and conversations to a productive outcome. YOU'RE REQUIRED TO HAVE THIS Bachelor of Science degree in manufacturing, industrial, systems, mechanical, or electrical engineering or in a related field; equivalent experience and education may be considered in lieu of a degree. 5+ years' experience in manufacturing. 3+ years' experience leading or managing production projects (direct or matrix). Experience developing or manufacturing projects for DOD/DOE customers with rigorous documentation requirements. Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD clearance. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Active DOE or DOD clearance. Familiarity with systems tools utilized for manufacturing, such as PLM/ERP/MRP/Capacity modeling, and ability to influence changes needed for tools to effectively manage the program production. Aerospace or defense systems Electro-Optics, RF systems, PCBA, electrical, mechanical assembly experience or experience in a similar hardware type processing facility. Lean Manufacturing experience and/or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certifications. Understanding of weld certification/process and IPC soldering standards. Experience with circuit card, harness, and system assembly. Experience managing and creating high-rigor product conformance evidence such as EIDP's or Lot Record Books and presenting to external customers.
