Job description

This is an in-person position; it is NOT virtual or remote. Purpose: To provide coordinated, trauma-informed, holistic direct services to individuals of all ages, races, nationalities, cultures, spiritual practices, abilities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender role. Duties: 1. Responsible for service intakes and assessments in accordance with established policy/procedures: provide phone intake/screening for individuals requesting agency services; facilitate shelter entry for new clients/families as needed, and service implementation. 2. Responsible for providing supportive services as needed for residential clients: provide information and emotional support to residential clients; provide input as appropriate to case management team to facilitate client goal achievement, and provide advocacy and referrals as appropriate for the client case management plan. 3. Responsible for hotline coverage to include crisis intervention, support counseling, information, and referrals as appropriate: provide hotline services as needed including crisis intervention, and emotionally supportive telephone counseling; provide information and referral services as needed, and provide linkage as needed to facilitate crisis to volunteers/staff as needed to facilitate crisis outreach response. 4. Responsible for collection and maintenance of client records and service data: appropriate recordkeeping, and appropriate and accurate use and timely submission of all agency management and client- related forms. 5. Responsible for sexual assault on-call response. 6. Other duties and residential and community engagement opportunities as assigned by the Program Director and/or Team Lead. Accountability: The Sexual Crisis Advocate is responsible to the Team Lead/Director of Victim Services and the client population for the timely, professional, and effective performance of all job duties. Qualifications: 1. Minimum of two (2) years of experience working with the identified client population or experience with a similar population and setting that is transferable; 2. A demonstrated understanding of and commitment to ending sexual violence; 3. Understanding of intersectionality and the impact of oppression on survivors of color; 4. Demonstrated sensitivity to issues of social justice; 5. Demonstrated ability to work in diverse teams; 6. Ability to expand communication style to multiple cultural environments; 7. Willingness to utilize, share, and/or develop technology skills; 8. Ability to network with other professionals within and outside the Agency, and with the business community on behalf of the client population; 9. Second language valued; 10. Minimum of Associate in Social Work or a related field, or minimum of two years of experience in social services or a related field; and, 11. Valid New Jersey Drivers License and insurability through AVANZARs insurance carrier. Salary: $40,000
