Job description

Overview:
Run parts and errands, coordinate all shipping, receiving and inventory. Manage and monitor purchasing system and all other duties as assigned by Shoreside staff. Assist Port Mechanics as directed and help with facility yard work.

Responsibilities:
Run parts and various errands to assist Operations and Engineering.

Knowledge or willingness to learn the oil transportation and maritime industry.

Assist in yard facility maintenance.

Assist Port Mechanics with general maintenance and repairs.

Use mechanical tools for repair and maintenance of equipment.

Assist in projects as directed.

Drive company vehicles and forklifts.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma.

Experience maintaining tugs and barges preferred.

Possess strong mechanical aptitude.

Ability to work with others using courtesy, tact, and good judgment.

Ability to understand and execute complex oral and written instructions.

Ability to work independently with minimal or no guidance.

Ability to get along with office staff and vessel crewmembers.

Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive communications.

Valid State driver license and clean driving record.

Obtain HAZWOPER within 30 days of being hired

Valid TWIC card within 30 days of hire. Must be able to read, speak, write, type, enter data into computer systems, and understand English in person, over the telephone and communicate via email.

Job Condition and Environment:
Frequently required to board tugs and barges in a safe manner.

Work in warehouse, maintenance yard and onboard vessels.

Expected Hours of Work:
Normal office hours are 0700 to 1600 Monday through Friday.
