The Director of People Operations is a member of the Leadership Team who plans, coordinates, and directs the HR function. Responsibilities include recruiting, training and development, compensation and benefits compliance, employee relations, employee engagement, performance management, work environment, communication, and special projects.
Responsibilities
- Recruiting and hiring the right candidates based on the company's core values while ensuring that all employees receive the training, support, feedback, and resources necessary to succeed in their roles.
- Implementing employee benefits and managing benefits administration, including recommendations for benefit programs, enrollment, worker's compensation programs, and return-to-work plans
- Function as an advisor to leadership about all human resources matters, specifically policy and procedure creation, compensation plans, employee benefit & training, and escalating employment legal or regulatory matters as necessary
- Updating, developing, administering, and enforcing company policies
- Ensuring company compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Working with senior staff to ensure job descriptions are current and compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations
- Developing and implementing new hire and returning employee orientation programs
- Developing and administering employee incentive programs that award desired employee behavior and performance in the workplace, supporting a culture of appreciation and teamwork
- Building a culture of safety and training, regularly assessing employee workplace safety, and ensuring leaders have the resources they need to train employees in proper procedures and practices
- Delegating responsibility, motivating and leading direct reports to achieve goals and objectives
- Evaluating employee job performance, implementing an employee review structure, and conducting necessary reviews
- Supervising a bilingual HR Specialist and managing all functions of the Human Resources Department, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining, addressing complaints, and resolving issues
- Other duties as assigned that could be directly related or unrelated to the position
Compensation
- Annual Salary $90,000-$130,000 plus bonus
- Full Time/Year-Round, Exempt

- Bilingual with the ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English and Spanish
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and 7+ years of Human Resources leadership experience
- People-oriented and results-driven
- Ability to communicate well, orally and written, with all levels of employees, clients, and external contacts
- Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases
- Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Change management experience with an ability to effectively communicate reasons for change, its benefits, and potential challenges
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
- In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
- Valid NH Driver's License and an acceptable driving record
- SHRM certification is preferred. If not certified, the expectation is to become certified within six months of the start date.
