The Clinical Nurse Manager Med Surg will oversee the daily operations of the Med Surg unit, ensuring the success of the overall planning, organization, coordination and evaluation of the assigned area. Reporting to and in collaboration with the Nursing Director, the Clinical Nurse Manager Med Surg will both clinically and administratively manage the day-to-day operations within the Medical Surgical Unit, with the goal of providing high quality patient care consistent with regulatory agency standards and evidence-based approaches. The Clinical Nurse Manager Med Surg will have the opportunity to oversee nursing staff while providing mentorship, training, and performance evaluations. The RN Medical Surgical Manager will promote ongoing education and professional development for nursing staff, as well as ensure that staff maintain required competencies and certifications. While ensuring that the patient-care is well-coordinated, the Clinical Nurse Manager will also monitor and maintain the implementation of proper safety protocols, including infection control measures.
