Description

Director of Quality (Defense) responsibilities:

  • Lead Quality Improvement Initiatives: Drive continuous improvement efforts across all areas of the organization to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards, including leading audits and certifications.
  • Manage Quality Team: Lead and mentor a team of quality professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with engineering, production, and other departments to resolve quality issues and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Customer and Supplier Quality Management: Address customer concerns, manage supplier quality performance, and drive initiatives to improve overall supply chain quality.
  • Monitor Quality Performance: Track and analyze key quality metrics, reporting to senior management on performance trends and areas for improvement.
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis: Oversee root cause analysis for quality issues, ensuring effective and timely resolution of problems.
  • Develop Quality Strategies: Create and implement quality strategies that align with the company's overall business goals and objectives.
  • Support New Product Development: Collaborate in new product development processes to ensure that quality standards are integrated from the design phase onward.

Successful candidate for the Director of Quality (Defense):

  • Extensive Quality Management Experience: Over 10 years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing or high-tech environment.
  • Proven Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams, driving a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Strong Knowledge of Industry Standards: Deep understanding of ISO 9001, AS9100, and other relevant quality standards and regulatory requirements.
