Description
The Quality Engineer (Defense) will:
- Lead investigations for corrective actions related to customer complaints, audits, and process issues
- Manage and ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 audit program
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation in line with ISO 9001:2015 (processes, logs, quality plans, etc.)
- Collaborate with suppliers and customers to resolve product quality concerns
- Monitor and report on manufacturing quality metrics (yield, DPPM, scrap rates, etc.)
- Assist operations staff with process updates and implementation of documentation
- Support R&D in implementing new processes and creating documentation for new products
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment for various procedures
- Operate production, prototype, and experimental test equipment; manage supply orders as needed
- Record, document, and analyze test data; communicate findings in detailed reports
- Participate in problem-solving teams and assist engineers, managers, and supervisors with special requests
- Engage in Lean initiatives such as standard work reviews, Kaizen events, and Tier 1 meetings
- Continuously seek to expand knowledge in new processes, Lean practices, and related work areas
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required
- 2+ years of Quality experience, preferably in a Manufacturing setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to interact at all levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Hands-on approach with strong problem-solving abilities
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to propose and implement process improvements
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Systems
