VP, Controller role for a tech company in Las Vegas.

Client Details

Our client is a post start up tech company in Las Vegas. They have a close knit team and are looking for a technical accounting leader to help build the infrastructure required within finance and accounting.

Description

  • Oversee the technical accounting function, ensuring compliance with GAAP and relevant regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support on complex accounting issues, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and financial instrument reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the accounting implications of new business initiatives and transactions.
  • Review and prepare technical accounting memos and documentation to support key accounting decisions.
  • Monitor and implement changes in accounting standards and regulations, ensuring timely updates to policies and procedures.
  • Lead the financial reporting process, ensuring accurate and timely submission of internal and external reports.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting.
  • Conduct training sessions for finance and operational teams on technical accounting topics and best practices.
  • Assist in the preparation for audits and liaise with external auditors regarding technical accounting matters.
  • Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on technical accounting and financial reporting, preferably in the technology or gaming industry.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting standards, including ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and ASC 842 (Leases).
  • Experience with financial reporting and compliance in a publicly traded or rapidly growing private company is a plus.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex accounting concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills are a must.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership experience with a focus on team development and mentorship.

Job Offer

  • Salary $220,000 to $300,000 plus bonus, benefits, equity and possible relocation
