Job description
JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S
Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II
JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges
JOB SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
The Systems Engineer is responsible for the technical implementation of programs and projects
The Systems Engineer is responsible for developing the Operational Concept Description (OCD) based on customer objectives, eliciting requirements from project stakeholders, writing performance specifications, and developing test plans and procedures for system acceptance
The Systems Engineer will work with the development/integration team and is responsible for the project's Preliminary and Critical Design Review (PDR and CDR) packages
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Performing test and evaluation of systems
• Ensuring compliance with systems engineering process
• Tailoring systems engineering process, as needed
• Ensuring engineering documentation standards are met
• Coordinating closely with Project Managers and Project Engineers on cost, schedule and performance
• Performing other duties as assigned DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Systems Engineering degree or relevant experience
• Effective communication, strong research and problem-solving skills while self-motivated
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE A Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and two years of related engineering experience or an accredited Master of Science in engineering are required for this position
In addition, an Engineer II must possess the following qualifications:
• Professional knowledge of applicable engineering concepts and principles
• Familiarity with related engineering fields
• Practical knowledge of test methods and practices sufficient to perform routine to more complext engineering procedures and to prepare or make minor modifications of standard test procedures or test equipment work instructions
• Working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools
• Planning/organizational skills
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Each employee must read, understand, and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to their job
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards
Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal; constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents; constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication; and constant mental alertness are required
Travel to remote company work locations may be required
