JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S
Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II
JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges

JOB SUMMARY

Essential Functions/Duties Serves in a technical capacity across broad programs involving development, budgeting, scheduling, project management, and installation of systems
May perform in a supervisor's role for engineers involved in the development, testing, integration, and sustainment of specialized and diverse software, electronic, and/or mechanical equipment and systems
The overall duties of this job may include, but are not limited to:
• Research and author requirements documents, theories of operation, operations manuals, etc

• Apply sound system engineering principles to all aspects of the position

• Using specified requirements, research and select active and passive, high power radar components to include amplifiers, modulators, mixers, filters, feeds, waveguide, coax and similar RF items

• Have familiarity with antenna characteristics, directional couplers, circulators, and similar waveguide components

• Design radar and microwave transmitting and receiving systems from stringent requirements

• Conduct individual radar and RF component tests and system level testing in a lab and on installed systems to verify vendor specification compliance and system performance

• Prototype systems to determine design feasibility

• Integrate COTS and specially designed radar hardware into a large-scale system

• Troubleshoot all types of radar and RF component and system level issues

• Maintain, overhaul, and modify radar and RF system components and associated equipment

• Direct experience with electromagnetic wave propagation theory and modeling to include knowledge of spreading loss, reflection, refraction, diffraction, absorption, and scattering

• Knowledge of microwave tube implementation to include magnetrons, klystrons, and traveling wave tubes

• Author technical studies/reports that analyze, validate, and recommend solutions or course of actions

• Use radar principles, propagation formulas, and signal processing knowledge to support outcomes

• Proficiency with HFSS, TICRA/GRASP, GENESYS, and/or other tools is desired
Specific tasks would include:
• Creation of transmitter or receiver RF designs from components to system level using various modeling and simulation software

• Specifying and choosing RF components based upon design criteria
• Measuring components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies using state of the art test equipment

• Present test results
• Assemble RF components into larger sub-assemblies and assemblies
• Integrate assemblies into systems and perform system checkouts Desired Requirements

Requirements Education, Technical, and Work Experience A Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and eight years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in engineering and a minimum of six years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctorate degree in engineering and a minimum four years of related engineering experience are required for this position
In addition, an Engineer IV must possess the following qualifications:
• Comprehensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering to provide consultative services on development programs and in the design and development of systems and components
• Knowledge and skill sufficient to apply the latest developments in engineering to solve complex problems in the specialty area
• Working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering tools
• Well-developed leadership skills
• Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems from a broad prospective
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Planning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines
Salary The expected salary range for this position is $110,000 to $175,000 annually
Note: The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay

Working Conditions Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards
Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required
Travel to remote company work locations may be required
