JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S
Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II
JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepare our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges

JOB SUMMARY

- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES The Power Production Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, performing preventive maintenance, and performing start-ups on generator equipment including automatic transfer switches in our customer's facilities, shop, and remote location

• Service, repair, modify, diagnosis and rebuild power generators
• Perform preventive maintenance on diesel generators: 2-60 KW
• Perform failure analysis, research parts, and perform repair and test
• Perform start-ups on new equipment, and perform scheduled maintenance for generators
• Transport/hook up of mobile generators
• Responsible for communicating repairs needed to supervisor and perform documentation in electronic database Minimum Qualifications: The incumbent must be a graduate of an accredited two-year technical/mechanical institution or equivalent, and at least 8 years job-related experience
This position requires the ability to obtain and retain a Security Clearance
The incumbent must possess a valid driver's license and must be capable of operating heavy equipment
In addition, the incumbent must possess the following:
• Good organizational skills
• Able to work well unsupervised

• Excellent customer relation skills
• Self-motivated
• Good mechanical/electrical aptitude
• Able to comprehend and trouble shoot from wiring schematics
• Knowledge on the basic workings of diesel engines
• Willingness to train in the company programs to enhance his/her generator knowledge
• Trade school education in Power Production/Generators and/or relative experience
• Experience working with power generator equipment for a minimum of one year REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE The incumbent must be a graduate of an accredited two-year technical/mechanical institution or equivalent, and at least four years job-related experience
This position requires the ability to obtain and retain a Security Clearance
The incumbent must possess a valid driver's license and must be capable of operating heavy equipment
In addition, a Mechanical Tech II must also possess the following qualifications:

WORKING CONDITIONS

The incumbent will perform in a shop environment in which mechanical equipment is operated is loud, and some pieces of equipment have exposed moving components
Routine lifting up to 50 pounds (anything heavier requires two or more people or mechanical assistance), regular handling, grasping, kneeling, and carrying, and constant use of vision and mental alertness is required
This position may require travel

Also, JT4 employees will only operate equipment that they have been fully trained on and/or certified to operate
If working in a training capacity, employees must be supervised at all times by a competent trained or certified company employee
Under no circumstances should employees use other employee's equipment without permission from their immediate supervisor or manager
Conversely, employees should not allow other JT4 employees or employees of another employer to use JT4 owned or assigned equipment without proof of training and approval of the shop manager
