Job description

Zachary Piper is seeking a Mid-level Information System Security Officer (ISSO) who will support mission training exercises for a NAVAIR program in Fallon, NV. As an Information System Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our organization's information systems. The ISSO will perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems. Additionally, you will review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups.

MUST HAVE ACTIVE TOP SECRET CLEARANCE Responsibilities of the Information System Security Officer: • Install, configure, and maintain local area network (LAN), data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers • Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems • Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups • Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access • Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses • Assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software
Qualifications for the Information System Security Officer: • 5 years of experience as ISSM or ISSO in a DoD environment • Experience in Information Assurance / Cybersecurity, including development, integration, and implementation of cybersecurity and program protection standards for networking, computers, and custom applications. • Thorough knowledge of the Department of Defense 8510.01 Risk Management Framework (RMF) for DoD Information Technology, DoD Instruction 8500.1 Cybersecurity, DoD Directive 8140.01, Cyberspace Workforce Management, NIST 800 Special Publications, Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS), and knowledge of current authorization practices, particularly within the DoD. • Experience in creating and maintaining the security configuration baselines for Windows and Linux platforms, networking equipment, cloud technologies, and custom applications. • Must possess DoD Approved Baseline Certification as Information Assurance Manager Level II (i.e. CISSP, GSLC or CISM)
Education • B.S. in Computer Science, Information System Management or equivalent degree program, from an ABET-accredited institution • An additional 10 years of relevant experience may be substituted for the degree
Compensation for the Information System Security Officer: • Salary Range: $105,000 - $125,000 depending on experiences & non-negotiable above this range • Full Benefits: Cigna Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, etc.
