Job description

• Work Status: Full-time 40 Hours per Week
• Department: Speech Therapy

Job Summary
Provide speech therapy services to identify, evaluate, rehabilitate, and educate clients, patients and students who have congenital, developmental, or acquired communication, cognitive, swallowing, and or voice disorders. Evaluation, treatment, and consultation with the goal of contributing to the well-being of the client, patient or student and assisting the return to optimal living within his/her capacity. Provide services in outpatient, inpatient, home health, long term care, and school settings. Provide prevention and wellness services, including screening and health promotion.
Referral Interpretation and Evaluation: Interpret provider and staff referrals, perform initial evaluations, and develop evidence-based plans of care with short-term and long-term goals.
Implementation and Monitoring: Implement therapy interventions, monitor patient responses, evaluate progress, and modify plans as needed. Document according to best practices and regulations. Establish discharge plans, delegate tasks to support personnel, and update the Therapy Representative on patient care and coordination.
Reporting and Education: Report to the Supervisor on scheduling, budget, and policies. Conduct educational sessions for patients, caregivers, and staff. Participate in community service and public relations activities. Ensure equipment is functional and safe, and complete continuing education to stay current with best practices.
Professionalism and Communication: Interact and collaborate with various professionals, demonstrating excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Exhibit strong problem-solving and analytical skills to effectively address patient care challenges.

Qualifications
• Education/Experience:
• Graduate of an accredited professional speech therapy program.
• In process or completed the minimum number of hours of supervised clinical practice and clinical experience.
• Licensure: Must have an active Speech-Language Pathology license to practice in the state of Nebraska.
