Rushville, NE - LTC Medication Aide

Shift: 12 hour nights; 6:00PM-6:30AM

$31.00 per hour

Requirements of the Medication Aide
Medication Aide must have LTC experience

Must have BLS certification

Must have NE Medication Aide license

Weekly Pay

Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Med Aide in a LTC setting required. Will have CNA responsibilities when done passing medications.

Job Summary
The Medication Aide plays a crucial role in providing safe and effective medication administration to patients in various healthcare settings. This position requires a compassionate individual who is dedicated to enhancing patient care and ensuring compliance with medical protocols. The Medication Aide will work closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to support the overall health and well-being of patients.

Duties
Administer medications to patients as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects following medication administration.
Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient responses.
Assist in the assessment of patient needs, including taking vital signs and reporting changes in condition to nursing staff.
Support patients with daily living activities as needed, including lifting and transferring individuals safely.
Collaborate with healthcare team members in inpatient, clinic, or behavioral health settings to provide comprehensive care.
Utilize electronic medical record systems such as Cerner for documentation and communication purposes.
Uphold the highest standards of patient service and confidentiality at all times.

Skills
Strong knowledge of physiology and medication administration protocols.
Experience in a medical office or clinical setting, preferably within a Level II Trauma Center.
Proficiency in taking vital signs and understanding their implications for patient health.
Ability to lift patients safely while maintaining proper body mechanics.
Excellent communication skills, with a focus on patient service and teamwork.
Familiarity with behavioral health practices is a plus.
