We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens opportunity in eastern Nebraska, near the Oakland area. Position Details
  • Role: Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician
  • Location: Eastern Nebraska, near Oakland
  • Shifts:
    • 6:30am-3:30pm
    • 11:00am-8:00pm
    • 3:30pm-12:30am
    • 9:30pm-6:30am
  • Shift Type: Various shifts available; includes weekend shifts
  • Expected Duties:
    • Standard emergency room (ER) responsibilities
    • Management of codes and typical ER cases, with minimal trauma
    • Use of EPIC electronic medical records (EMR) system
    • Supervision of Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs), cosigning charts
Requirements
  • Licensing:
    • Active Nebraska medical license or Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) license highly preferred
    • Clean malpractice history preferred
  • Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS (all required)
  • Experience:
    • Recent experience in emergency medicine practice over the last 12 months or recent completion of an ACGME/AOA-approved Emergency Medicine residency program
Support and Facility Details
  • Setting: Emergency Room in a freestanding emergency department environment with hospitalist support on-site
  • Support Staff: Physician-led team including Advanced Practice Clinicians
  • Hospitalists: Admits handled by dedicated hospital medicine team
  • Specialty Support: Full specialty backup with a streamlined transfer process
  • Patient Volume: Steady flow of both inpatient and outpatient emergency cases
Travel and Accommodations
  • Mileage: IRS standard rate reimbursement
  • Lodging: Reimbursement for actual expenses up to 1.5 times the local GSA rate if preferred lodging is unavailable
Credentialing Requirements
  • Timeframe: Approx. 60 days; completed applications required within 48 hours of receipt
  • Documentation: Current CV, provider contact information, availability, NPI/license number, malpractice documentation, and references if available
