The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will identify or diagnose communicative or oral lingual disorders and delay in the development of communication services and provide therapeutic intervention for children birth - 3 years.

Responsibilities:

Provision of services via assessment, plan development and monitoring of progress towards the outcome, training and support to family members in implementing the IFSP.
Refer for medical or other professional services necessary in the child's care.
Environmental consultation to ensure that appropriate adaptations and safety issues for the eligible child have been incorporated as set forth in the IFSP.
Documentation of services provided as reflected in IFSP.
Complete necessary documentation to facilitate reimbursement through primary funding sources (i.e., Medicaid, First Steps, etc.)
Comply with First Steps Provider Agreement in regard to continuing education, etc.
Promotes activities in the natural environment to enhance implementation of IFSP.
Report any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation immediately to supervisor or department head.
Comply with all standards to assure the health and safety of all individuals

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to supervise others
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Strong computer and paperwork skills

Qualifications:

Valid Driver's License.
Licensed by the State's Speech Pathology and Audiology Board
Meets criteria for First Steps Provider Enrollment
