Opportunity for a construction Estimator to join a well-established and reputable general contractor based in St. Louis. This individual will work on a wide variety of commercial project types including education, government, heatlhcare, and multi-family. Looking for an individual who has a well rounded understanding of construction and ability to do both hard-bid and negotiated work from initial client meetings through completion of the project.

Client Details

My client is an all inclusive General Contractor headquartered in the Greater St. Louis area. They are looking for a growth minded Project Estimator. They have been around for over 40 years and have had consistent growth with a project backlog for the next 2-3 years. Due to this growth they're looking to add multiple Estimators and Project Managers to the team. They pride themselves on making sure their staff feels fully supported. Description

  • Estimate from both concept designs and complete designs
  • Assist design team with budgetary pricing at various stages in design development
  • Completion of all aspects of project bidding including plan and specification takeoff, vendor contact and tracking, bid form completion, pricing, bid review and submission
  • Scope and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers for accuracy and completeness
  • Assist with the development, updating and implementation of an estimating database with assemblies
  • Assist or lead the process of implementation of estimating program software system
  • Maintain a cost history data base
  • Review estimates with design team and/or construction team
  • Interact with clients and design team as needed to evaluate conceptual and detailed estimates
  • Assist Project Manager with project budget set up once projects are awarded

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree required (construction related degree preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in conceptual and/or hard bid estimating
  • Experience on design/build commercial projects $10M+ is preferred
  • Hands on construction experience
