Position Description

Material & Equipment Manager

Vee-Jay is a concrete contracting company with a passion and understanding of the construction industry and the tools to accomplish the job. This position is responsible for the overall management of the yard for Vee-Jay Cement Contracting.

Key Activities:

• Procurement, Warehousing, & Distribution

• Equipment & Tool Management

• Facilities Management

• Inventory Oversight

Responsibilities:

• Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow. Revises schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities and availability or capability of workers and equipment.

• Supervise, mentor and coach yard personnel as it relates to company policies and procedures.

• Ensure high level of safety adherence to safety policies and procedures for yard personnel.

• Monitor weekly & monthly inventory reports and analysis of usage.

• Work closely with Cost team to ensure proper monthly billing for equipment and tools.

• Maintains communications with Shop Manager to ensure a maintenance plan for all tools and equipment is in enforced.

•Provide oversight of equipment inventory management to reduce theft, loss, and increase equipment utilization.

• Researches new tools, equipment, and methods to increase material/equipment inventory control and equipment usage.

• Identify and implement new work processes where needed.

Direct Reports:

• 1 st and 2 nd Shift Yard Supervisors

• Service Manager (Equipment Repair & Maintenance)

• Warehouse Manager
